I'm looking at this 2005 C2S CPO with 35k miles for 52k.

That's more than I paid for my 2006 Cobalt Blue C2S with 33k miles in 2009! I'm also looking at the exact same thing but 2006 but NOT CPO.

Is the summer the worst time?

You really can't compare 09' purchases to now. Everything was a"fire sale" then. As far as the summer, traditionally you get less off due to the higher demand for vehicles.

The sales manager is an acquaintance and he said the 997s have rebounded with strong resale. Given what I think the 991 is looking like I suspect the 997 is a keeper.

Yes, summer time is the worst time I think. December/January is better if you can wait.

Best time to buy a car is late January/February, as most people are broke after the holidays. I've been watching prices for a while and have noticed a big increase in the last 2-3 months.

You are in the peak season for Porsches. And today the used car values are higher in general from the 2009 depression years.

I was looking to get a 2008 CLK Cabriolet last fall for $29000. Did not pull the trigger and that same year and model is now $34-38,000.

They did push their 09 CPO C2S for 74k but it's got PDK. I like PDK so my wife can drive it but I prefer manual. Going to drive it today. hmmm...
