Dogs in your 911?

I had Golden in my 944T for years. Girlfriend always let the wet, muddy thing sit on the passenger seat. She had no issue soiling my ride. I currently don't have a dog with wife and 2 boys. But getting some heat from the boys. Our current set up would not allow for a dog. School, sports and after hours activities, there is no room for a dog. Would I let a big fluffy, shedding thing in my 997? I suppose. I'm sure it would molt less than my wife.
I would however, secure said dog with a doggie harness to the seat belt. I've never understood 3o-1oo lbs unrestrained possible projectiles loose in a vehicle. One panic stop or fender bender and the dog bounces around the inside of the car. One dead dog, or one dead driver or passenger. Makes about as much sense as that 2o lbs gold kleenex box on the back shelf of those nissan sentra's?

Our 10 yrs old mini-dachshund looks forward to rides in the Carrera... sleeps like a baby on a beach towel at the foot of the front passenger side with my wife in the front passenger seat. We walk him before and after our two hour treks between Austin and College Station, TX several times during the year to see our boys. Good canine therapy for the boys to see Coco and he is always game for a ride in the Porsche... jumps right in when I open the passenger side door. Knock on wood but we have not had a potty issue in the car. But I'm convinced that he has $hit in the house when he knows we took a ride in the p-car w/o him... I may be attributing too much to his awareness but the few times he's had an accident we were out in the p-car and not the Lexus. FWIW, he's not allowed to roam throughout the car... bad for his back and not safe.

I have a Newfie, a smaller Newfie, but still 125 pounds of drooling, shedding dog. Although he matches my black interior....there is NFW that he is getting my car.
And the reason why is is not allowed in the car...

We have a 70# Portuguese Water Dog. While he doesn't shed, his beefy paws don't play well with soft leather.
I let him ride in the MINI (begrudgingly), but he's not invited in the Porsche.

My daughter has a cat that sleeps on the convertible top if I leave the garage door open, takes half a roll of tape to get the hair off.
How much do I love my daughter................

It's just a car meant to be driven and having company is more fun. My 3 year old English Creme Golden Retriever rides shotgun in the 911 all the time. I used to put down blankets/towels but he would just scratch at them trying to re-arrange. Now he sits on the leather and is very very good. The Porsche leather is tough anyway. Don't have any pictures unfortunately. When he gets tired he lays down with his head behind the gear shift and nose on my lap. Only problem is the light hair in a black interior.

I didn't read thru all the pages...but there must be yes, no and maybes...but that's all our human perspective. I think dogs may have their own opinions too. some may love riding 911s but some may not.
I had a 60lbs GSP and sheded tons of hair. By the time I bot a 997, she was already 14 yrs old and didn't enjoy riding sports car as much. The front seat is just too small for her stiff body and car is too stiff for her to handle.
IMHO, it's just a car to enjoy. I like to keep it clean and all but that the main purpose of a car is for our enjoyment, like most other objects. If I knew my dog would enjoy riding it, then she rides in there. But mine is too old for 911...she enjoyed riding in my old man's car, Avalon.
