After living a few years in Raleigh, I would definitely consider it there. Even here in Cincinnati. I felt exactly like you did until I test drove a 996 turbo with black interiorand tinted windows that had sat out in the sun all day. I was shocked to find the interior at a comfortable temperature.

Go GSIR, Go GSIR, Go GSIR (dance when you repeat it and you will get what I am saying) !!
I got a 2012 GTS cab, and the car is sweeet. Yours looks fantastic. The best car they have made in a while--and I like them all! But more power, rear wheel drive, big butt--the GTS is the bomb!

I also just picked up a 2011 GTS. Black with red stiched interior with the aero kit package and wing from the factory.
I'm sure the new 991 will be a great car but I believe both its size growth and interior from the Panamera take into GT territory rather keep in firmly in the sports car genre'. My take on it.
The GTS is probably the best and last version of the 997 C2 and it was made in limited numbers. My dealer, one of the largest Porsche dealers on the east coast said they have only delivered six GTS's To me it represents what the 997 Carrera C2 should be. Again my take on it.
