Can this be correct price? http://www.suncoastparts.com/product//csrad3.html only $199 for this kit? I told my dealer about it and he said it could be an after market because there is no way Porsche would have it that low.

Anybody know?

It is OEM. I bought it a few months ago and everything was in a Porsche box with part numbers. It is the best thing I ever did for the price. I ran two DE days at NJMP in 85 to 90 degree temps and the temp never went over 175 degrees.

Suncoast sells this as OEM....it is a Porsche part and Suncoast has great deals.

It's been a 100F+ for sometime now in TX... with no change in sight. I'm contemplating the same bolt on mod... did anyone happen to flush their coolant system at the same time. How much coolant did you use?

I think that's the 997.1 version for $199. The 997.2 version is $900. I put one on my 09 997.2S and it seems to be worth it. I ran Mid-Ohio with ambient around 62F and was seeing 250F oil temps. After installing the third radiator I ran Mid-Ohio again but this time the ambient was around 95F. My oil temp this time was in the 235-240 max range. Both times the water temp indicated 175F.

Anyone here know how involving this is, is it essentially removing the front bumber cover, mouting it and splicing in the new lines with the 2 outboard units?

to install radiator itself is not such big of the deal. kinda bigger deal it how to put coolant back into car properly - it says you need to vacuum out all air you get in before you can pour in coolant and I have no idea of how to do it in my own garage.

Does anybody here know how to DIY - i mean to vacuum out air from coolant lines?

The whole project isn't very difficult. Draining the coolant, flushing and refilling is a simple process. I bought the UView 550000 Airlift Cooling System Leak Checker and Airlock Purge Tool Kit. I mixed about 7 gallons of Pentofrost 50/50 and when you release the vaccum on the Airlift tool it refills the sytem very quickly.

Watch the oil temps not the water temps. That gauge is really an idiot light in disguise. It will stay at 175 until you have on overheating issue.

Do you really need to do all that? Can't you just add coolant back into the reservoir?

Once you pull the caps off the front radiators where the hoses for the third radiator snap in you will loose all the fluid, I found it to be unavoidable. My car was 5 years old with 44k miles for I couldn’t hurt to replace it and I wouldn't recommend re-using the coolant.

I never would trust the gauges or idiot lights in any car; I just feel this is an inexpensive option at keeping the engine a bit cooler. I am fairly sure Porsche feels it works since they offer it as an option and standard equipment on 997’s.
