Default No way to lock the trunk?

I went into the trunk today to get the lock wheel socket and to my surprise, my air compressor is gone.

I've never used it in five years so I didn't leave it on a road somewhere. Only places the car has been without me are the dealer, a tire shop and a body shop. Somewhere in the last year +, it went missing. I don't remove that cover in the trunk area very often, but it was there at one time.

I decided that next time, I'd lock the trunk, thinking there was an easy way to do that and leave the non-remote key when in for some kind of service, but I didn't see any way to prevent entry.

Jeez, do I have to start removing everything that isn't bolted down? Who'd steal the compressor? Found a new one at LA Dismantlers but it still is $150 I shouldn't have had to spend.

Am I right that there isn't a valet key type of operation available? Maybe one more small item for the Porsche suggestion box.

insane, but those compressors are really handy.. someone probably ganked it at the tire shop and sold it on eBay.

Kevin, since we still have them there fancy keys and not FOB's - it only takes someone using the internal switch to pop the frunk. I guess you'll have to check it anytime someone has your car without you. Definitely sux!

stevepow, going to the PCA autocross this weekend ?

It's only 42 euros at Carnewal (http://www.carnewal-europe.com/cpx_p010.htm), $150 sounds high. Did you call Suncoast or Sunset to see how much they get?

Believe it or not, Suncoast wanted $296. Cheapest I found was $252 at Sonnen in California, so the $150 was a good deal. Apparently the compressor for the C2 is more expensive then for the C2S. Strange.

Get an ARB I have used them for years off road. Better than the Porsche compressor

But the Porsche converts the air to German air before it goes into the car.

Seriously, any portable compressor that fits in the space will do nicely.
