OK. I KNOW you've all been wondering. Here's the pics of my visual parking system for my 997.1 coupe. Note the angular downward reflections of the engine grill. When they hit the lower part of the rear window you stop! Amazing. Who knew, right?

First-in all my years here, this has to be the best post.
I happen to have had lunch today with my friend in his BMW 7 series. It has the radar thing and he managed to run over a curb.

Have your wife or girlfriend (or boyfriend?) stand beside the rear of the car and hold their hands apart to indicate the distance from the rear bumper of the car to the wall. Here's the tricky part. As you back up, watch the person as they move their hands closer together to indicate the narrowing gap between the rear bumper and the wall. Apply the brakes and stop when the hands are a few inches apart. Don't forget to turn off the car and set the parking brake. It's that lever in the middle, but not the one you use to change gears. PCA has an instructional HPPFI course you might consider taking (high performance parking for imbeciles).

Where I grew up I used to see lots of trucks around trying to park into tight space.
Here is what they usually do and a good way to park without a back up sensor.
Have someone stand next to the car, hold up a metal stick and keep BANGING on the car to tell you there are still more room. When it is just right then comes the big BANG that sounds like it is going to break your windshield. This way will for sure you won't hit the rear and cause damage to your bumper.
The one I just brought actually has back up sensor... got to find a way to turn it off.

Tyrone: "It came at me from an odd angle".
Sol: "Things come at you from odd angles, when you're backing".
Tyrone: "It's a little too tight".
Vincent: "Too tight, you could land a f@#$%^& jumbo jet in that space".
