I used one on my 996. A K&N air intake, IPD, complete stainless exhaust and REVO ECU and it was great. I am going to do simular to my 997.2 with no nesitation

Plenty of discussion on the IPD plenum, including on .2's, on 6speedonline. Not so much here.

+1, especially mods that provide more emotional results than measurable results (not that there is anything wrong with that of course).

Have you the email contact of Greg?
I think that all the cars that use the IPD (I have in my car) have the same problem: when the engine is very hot (even I travel just 50 miles), because the IPD is made in injected aliminum (metal), heats up quickly, causing the accelerated warming of the air entering the engine, thereby reducing the effectiveness I feel the car accelerating with difficulty (the OEM piece is made in plastic).

I would suspect you have a problem with this motor that has nothing to do with the plenum. This is, ummm, silly for want of a better word.

Why you said that? You have any experience? I have the experience before and after the IPD. If I travel 50 miles and I put the hand in the IPD, this component is very very hot. Before with the OEM in plastic was not the same.
As you should know, the ideal way is the fresh air to the ignition.

thats why many cars have plastic intake manifolds

if the plenum isn't any hotter than your intake manifold its probably making no difference though

Default I just got the first (dimpled) IPD plenum and y-pipe

I'm very lucky
I own one of the first 2011 911 Turbo S's to come into the USA in June 2010.

The IPD patent holder, "Turbo" Mike Kirakosyan, installed my first-off production model dimpled Y-pipe in the IPD shop!

When combined with the first dimpled plenum (installed in Colorado by Poudre Sports Car before I drove to LA) caused so much torque and horsepower... when it was my turn to drive after Mike's test, the caution light on the dash told me there was icy conditions in Huntington Beach! We broke the tires on 2nd-3rd shift!

I could not get on an AWD dyno while in CA, but know- no question- that I've received a 10% kick in the torque and horsepower right where I wanted it: just before turbo boost. In other words: 40-50hp at the wheels and - get this- 2mpg better fuel economy in carefully measured stages, over 2200 miles of careful driving.

He's right. No such problem exists with IPD plenum. I've used both orig and comp version and you just get more smiles all the time.
