I'm the first driver with the new IPD dimpled plenum and Y-pipe. Not only amazing (real) performance gain, but 2mpg better mileage. The Y-pipe was a huge surprise. I didn't expect a noticeable boost, but off the line and below 30mph , the car's throttle response and acceleration is brutally different (so much so that when "Turbo Mike" who invented the plenum and holds the patent took me for a shake down drive, the car's computer showed icy conditions...in Huntington Beach, CA.) I paid careful attention to documenting the performance and mileage improvements; and I am writing a magazine article about my experiences. Most likely publication will be HIGH GEAR , the magazine of the PCA RMR region. BTW, the dimples act like those on a golf ball: accelerating the flow around the ball/interior surface of the hardware. Also, do not have your IPD units powder coated. Keep the bare aluminum's pores exposed to increase the surface area of the metal to aid in cooling the metal.
