can you be more specific? I send mine to a detailer who does a fantastic job, but you get what you pay for. I would really like to learn to do it myself, as I enjoy spending time cleaning and detailing, but the whole "swirling" thing scares me off. This is the first black car I have ever owned, and man it drives me crazy.
So...Do the Zaino products provide instructions that, if followed by a rank amateur, actually work to prevent the kinds of issues that can arise with black paint?

I had to laugh when you mentioned that you knew where every scratch, chip is. Misery loves company.
Too much time on your hands? Buy a black car like mine (ours), it's like a second job....
I know that some of your neighbors hate your guts. Junk, junk, junk, Black Carerra S, junk, junk, junk...
Black is tough, but it looks so good when done. Guess what I'm doing this afternoon?

island, your car came out great.
scott, your mexico blue 911 is f*cking fantastic
I did mine as well a couple of weeks ago. Washed, clayed, polished, washed, and 3 coats of sealant glaze.

Islander looks great, the wheels are really striking with the black.
Ynot, hadn't thought of using painters tape, thanks.
