Say, we use Griot's Weatherproof Tire Dressing product. It goes on slightly thinner than a gel and is long lasting, durable, can be reapplied w/o build-up and leaves a deep satin black finish.

Is there a difference between the .1 and .2? Although I'm not the first owner, mine came painted:

Should it matter if you got other aero bits? From what I can see, the side skirt is NOT any lower, just sticks out a bit more and adds a bit of flare... or am I missing something about it?

No, you're right, it's just that more aggressive track-styled side skirts can sometimes look funny without a matching front lip. Usually I think it's best to stay stock or go all the way for the GT3 look.

These are pretty subtle so I think they might look good on their own, but you never know until you see it in place. The only examples I can find are on the GTS which has got the different front bumper with aero look.

Your car looks stock to me. The side skirt is the black plastic part below the painted sill.

The wide body cars suffer (obviously) the most from this exposed area. Years ago we would add a special compound to the paint to make it more durable in the heavy rock-chip potential areas. it's still available today. I would use that to treat those areas.

The NB cars come with a body panel that is really not a "skirt" and come painted from the factory.

The WB cars has a more pronounced flair, kind of a "mini skirt" and come unpainted, but can be optioned to be painted.

I really like okbarnetts fresen-up solution for the GTS and GT2RS. Here is a link to SEM bumper coat

http://www.semproducts.com/Catalog.asp?cat=28

I briefly considered painted side skirts for my GTS, but stayed with black 'cause they look good and wont get chipped as easily- brutal conditions down there.
