Today I was cycling through the on-board computer readouts (DTE, avg mpg, avg mph) and was somewhat surprised to see that I average 26 mph.
I don't recall the last time I've reset that function, so I assume it's been a while. My 997 is a daily driver on the mean streets of west LA, where you...sit...a...lot.
so I guess 26 mph isn't so far-fetched![Frown](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
I thought it would be fun to see what other people are getting. so....what's your average speed?

43 something. We live in the California high desert outside town, but most trips involve going into the town, so I suppose we're running something like your 26 within the city and something soothing to the Porsche soul outside town.

If you have the dealership run a DME scan for you, often that number is about 32 mph. That's by taking the total mileage (in kilometers) and dividing by the shown engine hours.

Wow, is that even a law? I can understand if you were being reckless in a certain situation, but excessive acceleration? Were they actually calculating your acceleration and you exceeded a threshold value? What BS.

usually they do that when they can't nail you for speeding, but want to write you up for something.
