Arrow PPI results (partial) are in!...

I posted this in my original thread re: AG in SoCal but I figured I would keep this thread specific to the PPI results in hopes of getting more feedback overall...

RR quarter panel (fender) substantial scratch
RR quarter panel (fender) has swirl marks (rest of car OK)

If you are looking for opinions I would pass on this car.

It must be my emotions talking but I'm not so sure...

This is the thing - this car will be CPO'd if I move forward and new OEM wheels and tires are part of the deal.

The RR quarter panel doesn't concern me since there was no accident.

What I don't understand is the monitors not ready indicators?

The transmission pan sweating is also a big concern but I'm a newbie so I need more opinions before I pass 100%.

So far the consensus is clear and I'm leaning to the left big time lol

Somebody obviously did not take care of the car... I would pass.

sound like car was tracked (not a sin) but not maintained/treated well (punishable by death). back away slowly, dont make any sudden moves.

and slightly off topic but:

Red face

Now that this car is off the list - I'm down to 3 options:

C2 PDK 997.2
- limited options including no sport chrono but I figure if I need it I will spend the $1500 with my local dealer to add-on
- CPO w/ 18,000 miles
- $66k

C2S PDK 997.2
- being sold at original dealer so full service history is available
- original PDK tranny was defective and swapped
- 30,000 miles
- $70k + another $4k if I want CPO (new tires will be required)

The last option is to keep looking

I'd go with the C2S. Though it's almost double miles, 12k mi isn't really that much for a Porsche. Plus it's only a 4k price difference and you get more power, better brakes etc.

No reason to buy until you are totally satisfied. With new model due out there will be a flood of "old" cars to choose from. Deep breath...

Are you buying just to buy a 997?
You made no mention of color, or what exactly YOU are looking for in a Porsche.
Don't buy until YOUR expectations are met.

The thing that concerns me is the PDK swap that was done... I'm not sure what other damage may have been caused if any by changing the PDK tranny.

The total price diff will end up being closer to $8k as I will get the CPO done on the C2S if that's the one.

I totally agree.... I'm not going to settle when its my cash on the line

I didn't mention the other variables because those decisions have been made... I really need advice on the big issues right now

Cheers

Just shows you - always do a PPI even on a CPO'd car.
