Default Michelin Pilot Super Sports

Anyone seen or ordered these yet? I need a set of 4 asap and understand the RE-11s are backordered several weeks. These are priced much better than their predecessor and I don't plan to have the car on the track. Any thoughts on whether these are a good choice, or recommendations for a better choice?

Thanks
Jon

My town mechanic got me a set for my rears within 2 days of ordering it from his supplier from Boston. I was never told of any back orders.

Did you try Tirerack by chance?

Ordered mine two weeks ago and installed them last week. First impressions are that they seem quieter than then the pilot sports and they look beefier on my Carrera Sport II. Great looking tire too, IMO.
Cheers

Two questions - did you source locally or Tire Rack?

Who do you use for install? Even MCL doesn't mount their own tires I'm told - they outsource. I've been using the VW dealer, they have a roadforce balance machine.

You may want to also check http://www.treadepot.com/index.html to see what they have and compare prices.

I have Bridgestone Re-11's on and like them ALLOT so would be interested on hearing your feedback, comparing when you switch to new Michelin PSS.

Getting my Pilot Super Sports (front and rears) mounted this Saturday at my local Porsche dealer. Apparently, they price match TireRack so it works out for the best. Hopefully, they know how to put a Porsche on a lift!

I wish they would at least announce when the "N" spec will be available so that I could make a decision as to whether to wait or buy non "N".

I got mine from a local tire dealer in Vancouver. He was once a National Tire dealer and is now an independent. If your still interested, I can PM you his contact info. He mounts and balances too.

My friend @ Michelin (Spartanburg, SC) said the info on the "N" spec should be out in 4-6 weeks. The tires should be ready by late summer. They are still waiting on answers from Porsche.

I ordered a set of Pilot Super Sports from Tire Rack (235/35-19 front 305/30-19 rear) several days ago. $1,563 including shipping. They will be installed on my car tomorrow by At Speed Motorsports. I'm getting an alignment done too.

I'd also check out the NEW Bridgestone S-04 Pole Position... according to this video it is REPLACING RE050A!

I just replaced my Michelin PS 2s with the Super Sports today (235/35 19 and 305/30 19) on the 2006 C4S Cabriolet. As mentioned above, they seem quieter than the old tires, but that could just be due to the tread wear on those that were replaced. The tread life (UTQG) is 300 vs 220 on the PS 2 Michelins, so they should last longer, though they have slightly more weight than the PS 2 (unsprung).
