Default How to Mute Audio on PCM??

I have a 2007 997.1 C4S with Bose package (and other extras, see in sig below), Outside of down grading from a "Sport Steering Wheel" to a multifunction steering Wheel (which has a mute button). Is there not another way to "mute" the audio or "pause" a CD without turning PCM off?

IIRC, it's one tap of the volume button, or the "TP" button.

The procedure is buried somewhere in the PCM manual. IIRC, several of the screens have a mute selection but as I said, not only is the info buried in the manual it's buried in a myriad of menus - no elegant way to push one button on the PCM to mute - I just spin the volume *** to the left.

I think to pause the CD you would have to just change from "CD" input to Radio input (FM or AM button).

I dont think there is a dedicated "mute" button on the PCM itself. You would have to press "Audio" and then select "Mute" from the menu there. But i think it auto un-mutes if you rotate the volume ****.

Love the look of the hardtop on your car!

+1. It's really a dumb oversight, but typical of German quirkiness. If the PCM ever goes south I won't have it replaced, I'll get an aftermarket unit with Bluetooth.

They fixed this in the 997.2, thankfully.
You can mute anything on the new ones by pushing the volume button in.

In the 997.1 cars, easiest mute is to turn the volume all the way down.
Just not very well thought out, unfortunately.

Thank you! Honestly, living in Texas I only have it on for 3-4 months out of the year but it's like have two cars in one!
