Default 06 C2S vs. 07 C2

Have driven both base and S. I did feel some difference but too new to P cars to really tell. May be just in my mind.
Trying to make a decision between the two.
a 2006 C2S with roughly 40000 miles vs. a 2007 C2 with 11000 miles. Both are more or less the same price.
The 06 has a nicer interior color combo where the 07 one is just black and both got the chrono package.
Which one would you guys pick?
Thanks!

06 S IMO.

Do a carefull PPI of course, but assuming the car is in good shape, miles are nothing to be scared of. In fact I'd be more scared of low mileage cars.

The S is worth $5k or so, you get a lot of value with the S package, not just the engine.

Of course, 09 base vs. 08 S is a different story ...

Do you track?

If so, get an "S" (either this one or something with lower miles) cause it has the better brakes and you would appreciate the HP difference. If not, then definitely 07 C2 is the better option with such a low milage, as on the street it would be just as quick and fun, and down the road for re-sell it's easier with much lower mileage.

what else is in the S package besides extra 30 HP and slight wider rear?
I don't plan on tracking the P car but would hate to get blow by 335 and S4 on the HWY.

The "S" does NOT have a wider rear. The C2 and C2S are exactly the same dimension in the rear.

"S" Adds: 30 more horses, bigger brakes (red), PASM, & standard 19" wheels.

I think you can do that with a C2 as well!

Get the "S". Don't think of it as an investment either. Its a car that depreciates like a brick. imho, its still a mixed bag whether low or higher miles is better for a used example. Sounds like you prefer the color of the "S" and if you have to look at a car, may as well be the one that you think looks nicer.

+1 on the C2S if the PPI and DME is clean, one owner, stock, CPO(ideally), etc.

Worry less about the miles or year, buy the one that's in better suited to your taste and needs. But if equally suited, then go for the newest model with lowest miles.

Get the car you want.
Don't compromise.
If you haven't found it yet, keep looking.
Enjoy the process and (especially) the test drives!

In time you'll say, "I could have had an S."

You will find that in America, the vast majority of cars are S cars. Overseas, where every cent is taxed out the kazoo, the base Carrera is popular.

Don't be afraid of mileage. The cars actually do better being driven. If the car doesn't have that many miles (for its year) some issues will not be discovered until the next owner (you!) finds them!

I would go with newer, lower mileage car. The pasm is an advantage for tracking but 30 hp is not really noticeable. If power is important go to the 09S model with DFI. Now that will make a difference.
In the end, they are all great cars and will not disappoint.
