you didn't say what track you're running on. But even still, DE's especially early on are relatively low risk. Yes, you can go "agricultural", and end up picking grass and mud out of places you'd think it could never get to, and possibly damage some of the underneath plastic, but I doubt it. An odd stone chip or two (which you can help prevent by using a bra and mirror bras--remove the hood piece if it gets wet, though, because trapped moisture can make the paint cloudy as it absorbs moisture), should be it. About like going on a road trip really.

The biggest risk is DE's can be addictive And that's when the money can start piling up--racing seats, harnesses, track tires, dedicated track car, ect....but you're a long way from that. Go. Have fun.

And be prepared for your car to get dirty, from bugs, track dust, and track "gum *****" (rubber from track tires). Have the car clean and freshly waxed when you start; consider a bra and mirror bras to minimize additional stone chips; strategically placed racer's tape; and a car with fresh brake fluid and other items covered by tech inspection, and you're good.
