As others have said, I originally went into the dealer for a cayman or boxster and my wife said you really want the 911 you should get that. Then I was trying to get a plain ole regular Carrera and when that deal fell through she said why not get the Red C2S you liked in the lot.
Your woman should know you and know what makes you tick. By that same token, it's a partnership and you need to consider her feelings too. If you have to hide and lie about things, doesn't sound like a good start. There's nothing I can't tell my wife and vice-versa.

Find a new GF. I am married for 9 years with 2 kids and from day 1 my wife knew that I loved cars and never to get involved in decisions around them. I bought her a cayenne 2 years ago, while driving my B7 she loved it. Then this october I bought C2S without even asking
, because it was always my dream to have one. She did say I was crazy and how will the kids fit, but that was the end of it. Good luck and hope you build your relationship foundation correctly or it will cost you double later...

I would agree that the fact you are nervous/scared (not intended as an insult) is indicative of future problems. Women I've dated for any length of time have always accepted my hobbies, they may not understand cars or buying expensive watches, but they realize it's what I enjoy so they don't care. Although they don't appreciate me calling my Porsche my "baby"
Likewise I don't understand when women have 45 pairs of shoes, but they should do what makes them happy. I've seen far too many friends be miserable in ****ty relationships.

My new mistress is a guards red on black C2S... I've had a mistress throughout my marriage. Whether it was sports car, cave diving, safaris in Africa, or serving in the Marine Corps for 14 yrs... all of these childhood dreams and adult endeavors are my mistresses and define who I am... and in every case these were against her wishes but she grew to love me for manning up to my dreams... 25 yrs of marriage now and I've always been loyal to my wife. Some men have a real mistress on the side... mine is a red headed black laced Carrera S. Congrats on your new mistress and stand tall when you introduce her to your GF and/or potential wife.

Best thread of 2011!
I think this should be discussed on Dr. Phil!

I'll bite... Are you kidding about all of this? You are hiding (temporarily) your purchase of a new car from your girlfriend? She hates Porsches, but you went ahead and bought one without her approval?
Alternatively, my wife fully supported the purchase of my various Porsches, when I first talked about my first Porsche the Cayman was new and what I was considering and she said "But Ron, since I've known you you've always talked about the Carrera - I think you should get the 911..."
