Appropriate way to show thanks to service advisor and manager

A letter to all the parties involved thanking them should be enough. If more is done, it could be seen as a bribe, or at least, would raise expectations the next time something goes wrong. Cash/booze etc seems a bit tacky for thanking someone doing his job, no?
