Default PSE vs. Tubi vs AWE... and also...

I've been reading the threads re. Tubi, Awe. and PSE.
I have a 997.2 with a bit over 5100 miles on the clock. Have had it for over a year, and before I get chastised for not driving it enough, I have the very distinct advantage of being away in Europe a fair part of the year (about 5 months) + other travels.
The pcar has been amazing so far, but in a prefect world, the (non-Bose) sound could be improved upon. I am still under all kinds of warranties and am leaning toward the PSE system. I bought this car "off the lot" and while it met many of my requirements, it did not have PSE or X51 option.
The on/off switching exhaust note is enticing. Great to be stealth in late evening, but would love to have more of an exhaust tone when I feel like it!
So the PSE does sound like it ticks a lot of boxes.

However.... how does weight compare to other alternatives (AWE, Tubi, Sharkwerk, etc)? Is there any alternative setup which would allow:
- warranty to still be honored
- choice of louder or more stealth
- no added weight

The second part of the question, relates to being in Europe so much; has anyone done temp import to France of their Porsche? I am there 5 weeks in March/April, then from June 8th to August 20th and again from late September fro 5 weeks. I'd love to have my car over in Europe for the 10 weeks in summer. This summer celebrates a special b'day so I'm tempted to either get another (might be tough to justify!) or better; just use the pcar I have now and ship over and back. Of course I want the baby unharmed!

Thanks for any and all info. I know the search feature is my friend and used it a lot. But I leave tomorrow for.... Europe and was hoping more direct info might be available.

Thanks again!

Sound level: Tubi > AWE > PSE
Weight: PSE > AWE > Tubi
Install cost: PSE >> Tubi=AWE

You gotto decide... Tubi is by far the best, AWE better value, PSE best compromise between loud/silent. However, PSE on 997.2 with DFI engine is NOT LOUD AT ALL! PSE on 997.1 is quite different sounding and sounds a lot closer to aftermarket... for 997.2 if you like to go louder I'd go aftermarket.

For Europe, have no idea, probably best to rent a Porsche while you're there, I think it's something like 200/day, so a 10 day rental would probably be half as shipping your car and back!

What led you to that conclusion?
I've always thought sound was a highly subjective quality.

From fit/finish/weight/loudness, it's the best... whether or not that sound is the best is obviously subjective.

"the best" IMO then!

That works for me.

It would be great to see exactly what you mean by fit and finish. (Photo's)
If you like shiny, the Fabspeed is pretty reflective.

Disclaimer: I've recently received a new Borla Exhaust and will have it installed next week. Trying to remain neutral until then.

No time for that, just look at some archives.

LOL... I have. That's why I went with Borla.
Not trying to argue or anything. Just discussing.

I dont think sharkey offers it's own Full exhaust, but rather just the crossover pipes.
I have heard and seen both PSE and Tubi. I perfer the latter cuz its louder, lighter, and "looked pretty"
I have only seen the AWE system on the web.

erm its not 10 days but 10 weeks... and I wish I could rent a 911 for $200 or even Eur200 a day... Not a 997 anyway...

I dont think you do a temporary import, you dont stay long enough in each region. Insure it - make sure it is covered overseas - ship it and thats it. Someone else needs to help you with the details as I am in Europe already so I dont know, but I recall 15 years ago when I went to university in MA, a couple of friends had cars over in Europe for the summer, no problem. Ship to UK and drive from there. Do a part container for added safety (shared if possible so you lower the cost) rather than what is called RO RO (roll on roll off) for security and avoiding damage. Cost difference is worth it against the added safety. Have heard horror stories on RoRo's...
