Wow. Thanks for the responses. You all not only helped save me some money but also made me feel good about it!
Not the responses I expected at all.

Another "don't do it!" Makes no sense at all to me. You have two fantastic cars, keep the 993 forever and wait for a couple years on the 997, you will have much better options then.

i also very curious about upcoming 991 car. if they for real wil make a GT3 with 480 horses and 'sport' PDK shifter - it will be a major major reason to loose some sleep for a while. meanwhile - I just got new set of star spec z1 direzzas, drove on them this morning - oh baby, it`s back! fun fun fun. hate those snow tires, could not wait to put them aside...

Re: my first comment, you didn't say if you had an S or non-S cab, but in any event you're talking about a (408-355=) 53 or (408-325=) 83 hp difference. To assume a 15% (S) or 26% (non-S) increase in power will fail to produce a noticeable performance increase (especially if you were to opt for the PDK) seems laughable at best. YMMV.

^Doug,
there is no point arguing our post word-by-word.
we all know that the GTS (manual or PDK) is faster than regular .1 or .2 C2 or C2S. Don't even need a test drive to prove that.
in real life street driving situation, assuming that you sort of drive close to the speed limit, the noticable difference is small, and definitely not justifiable for the price to pay. (Now this is probably a more arguable statement as no Porsche purchase is justifiable to start with).
I have a .1C2S (355hp) before my club coupe (381hp). I cannot notice any significant difference both on track or road.
My .2RS (450hp) is significantly faster than my club coupe. But with street driving (close to speed limit), from point A to B, the performance difference is there, is noticable, but doesn't matter. I hope you get my point.
