Default 1 GTS vs 997 and 993?

OK, so I really want a GTS Cab. But in order to even consider this kind of cash outlay it would necessitate selling the 997.1 cab and the 993 coupe.
Thoughts?

Keep the 993, sell the 997 Cab.

if you have 997 already - i would wait a bit for 991 cars to appear - a whole bunch of those who got GTS will unload them to get 991 - prices will get down. well, unless it is imperative to smell that new car smell (available for $5 in retail ).

GTS cab will not drive much different than your .1cab. Don't be fool by marketing. You will not be able to tell the performance difference on the street. Besides, have 2 Porsches is better than 1. The more, the better.

While the GTS is nice, paying north of $100 000 now on a 997 is only going result in pain. (disclaimer, some tolerate pain better than others)

i do not think you can get GTS for $100K, more like $120K somewhat (if you get PDK+SC + ...) plus tax = ugly.

I repeatedly tried to convince myself into GT3 car upgrade while we had some money set aside, then wifey spent all that on an apartment and that gave me greatest soul comfort in whole 1.5 years - it is much easier not to worry of all that stuff if you see you cannot afford them anyway.

plus i have noticed an interesting thing - I think of how i would like a 'better' car exclusively while i sit here and read those forums. when I actually drive my current car it is somehow not even coming to my mind.

I live in a town where many have to have the latest and greatest of everything. Next year or so there will be a whole bunch of GTS cabs sitting around, slightly used, that were traded in on a 991 cab.

You are lucky in that you already have two great pcars. If it absolutely requires selling both to get into the GTS, I would not do it. If you can swing it by only selling one, let it be the 997. I would definitely spend some time sleeping on it though to avoid any regrets down the road......Good luck!

I couldnt have put it better myself. I was a phone call from confirming the build on a new GTS and I drove my 997.1 cab to starbucks and realized that I really loved my current car and i would probably suffer buyers remorse if i went ahead with the GTS. Im going to wait a while, ive taken the majority of the depreciation curve..
cheers

yep. i lazily think now of if i should buy a VF-E charger to boost HP on my 997 C2 as they have it on sale for $8.5K or so... but I am positive as season will start and I will do some AX, some DEs - all those urges will be gone, well, at least until the end of the season. car is on CPO until 2012, nothing really is needed to be done to her anymore, just drive damn thing and enjoy it with possibly minimal additional investments.

It's part of our disease. I sit here and think about a GT2 or a GTS but then realize how much I like my 997.1 TT. I've sold 3 p-cars during the last 6 years and have regretted each sale.

You have been given some great advice by every single post. If this was your first 997 then I say get a GTS, otherwise ... just follow their advice and stay put. See what the 991 gives you and then make a decision.

Do NOT do it! 997.1 is so close to 997.2 it's not worth it at this time. Before you know it, 991 is gonna be here and 997.2 will be obsolete, so it absolutely doesn't make *financial* sense to do it.

Wait for 991, see how it is (some may not like it due to larger size, interior based on Panamera)... then if that's not to your liking, I am SURE you can find a nice pre-owned GTS at great discounts!
