Great car, congrats. My GTS completed Jan 28th, left germany around the fifth and am still waiting for it on the left coast, ahhh the benefits of being closer to Germany. =)
Have a great time with it.

so you gave up a turbo 997 for a NA.. I think that is the first time I see a Turbo owner looking back and getting into a normally aspirated model.
I can't wait to hear your comment on comparing the two !

Hey Phil- the x-51 997 and turbo are definitely different cars but it's not a big stretch to prefer one over the other. To me, the turbo felt more solid with heavier steering, definitely faster over 4k rpm but more of a GT-type cruiser. The GTS feels lighter, a little harder edged (closer to the GT3) with sharper handling. I actually prefer the looks of the GTS- I like the clean lines without the rear wing and side vents. I also prefer the sound of the GTS with PSE over the quieter mechanical turbo exhaust note. I tried an aftermarket exhaust on the turbo but didn't like the drone/resonance around 2500 rpm. The sudden rush of power in the turbo was addicting but I find the power of the GTS more than adequate for city/mountain driving. The linear power and torque earlier in the rpm are plenty satisfying and I can see why Porsche trusted this engine in the high end Speedster and Sport Classic models. I'm sure I'm in the minority to prefer the GTS over the turbo but I guess that's one reason Porsche makes so many different choices in their 911 line.

Carcam - looks like a well organized garage. What kind of lift do you have? What is the ceiling height in your garage and did you have to do any modifications to install the lift? Looking to install a lift in my garage in anticipation of getting the GTS. Thanks.

I've had it 10 years and it's been flawless. It just sits on the floor without any anchors and I've even moved it around a bit. Mine is 110v so it takes close to a minute to go up, a few seconds to come down. The 220v model is quicker if you're impatient. I have an 11' ceiling in the garage. I can fit a 67" tall car underneath then whatever small car above. Add 3" to the combined heights of both cars and you have your ceiling height requirement. You will also have to move your garage door up to hug the ceiling. They added a couple dummy panels to ours and they said they do it all the time. Ten years ago, mine was $2500 online delivered + $500 installation, $200 to move the doors up. I'm sure it's more now but probably not too much. Sure beats adding on the garage or parking a nice car outdoors. Good luck.

Great car! My GTS cab is spec'd with PCCB, meteor gray with red leather, bose and Nav--BUT, 4 month wait! Thanks CARCAM for the lift info, I need one--garage door being moved upward now. Maybe I can get the left in before the car gets here. Now I need to sell the 993, sniff, sniff ....

Can't wait to see all the new GTS cars coming in. The waiting is the hardest part.
