I like it. It was a thoughtful gift for a sports car enthusiast.
It was a very nice gift.
When you close the cap, do you make sure that PORSCHE is level??

No one is putting off the OP. We all wish him a great Birthday! I'm sure the gift was well intended and the cap looks cool - we are simply having fun with that. Would most of us send PAG $120 to replace a perfectly good std fuel cap? No. But as a received gift, anyone would take it.

Absolutely!

The perfect thing about a gift like this is it's something I wouldn't buy myself because I think it's rediculously expensive for what you get but I like it. I'm the only one who will see it most of the time but some things you do on your car not because others will see it, but because it pleases YOU.

I think it's a nice touch -- kind of like those carbon fiber seat belt hanger covers or whatever they call those things by your shoulder that feed the seat belt. Why anyone would would spend money to make those carbon fiber I don't know, but if it pleases them, cool...it's THEIR special car.

Cheap painted plastic? Sounds consistent with the rest of the car to me

I'm usually the hater in threads of this nature, but I have to admit, that's one cool bauble.
Honey, where's my valentine's day gift?

Way to crap on someone's birthday gift.... If you've nothing nice to say about a birthday gift - which I happen to think is kind of cool - why not just move on?

As a gift I guess it's kind of cool, but never would i spend my own money on something like this.
+1 Wasting money on ones porsche (or porsches in my case) is absurd. Do any of you buy multiple sets of wheels, carbon fiber, clear markers....

Let's get serious here. The whole car is waste of money. There is no space, no spare,no trunk. To make matters worse, god forbid if it breaks down while on a trip,it is next to impossible to find a dealer except in major centers. Now, some of you are concerned about the cost of a gas cap for $100.00.
Let's all take a deep breath and wish this true enthusiast a happy birthday.

They're putting the fake ones on the Speedsters so you're way ahead of them with a bona fide aluminum one!

Very nice gift.

Pleasant to look at, if you fill-up your own gas. I usually don't.

Thank you - I was beaten down about that on another forum - drives me nuts when people who do not own something adamantly speculate about the nature of it.

Happy Birthday.

If you like it, I love it.

If chicks dig it, I want one.

Only $100? Sounds like a bargain.

Does Suncoast have them?

These come as both painted plastic and full metal. We had a thread about this here a couple of years ago, and the general feeling was that the very high price of the metal version (over $300, as I recall, not $100), was hard to justify. But I agree it's a great gift for the man who has everything.

The gas cap is available at Maxspeed for 119.00 in aluminum with silver or gunmetal finish.
One caveat, it does not show PORSCHE on the cap but PETROLEUM instead, sort of a neat twist.
