I would not worry about using a cover is it is covered parking although it is always better to use a cover. I am going to get an outdoor cover as I park mine outside and there is no cover. Summers are pretty hot out here where I live. The problem is how others can perceive your pampering at workplace.

Ed, you don't know the half of it.

My salesman keeps missing the deadlines he sets. The latest was that by this afternoon, shipping would be arranged(supposedly with Intercity at a max price to me of $1250 and 2 weeks in transit). So, he calls me after 5PM today and says "are you sure you don't want to pay $1950 and have it here in 3 or 4 days?" I told him I couldn't commit any more money to the deal. Then he says "well it's gonna take more like 3.5 weeks with Intercity. But I'm about to arrange if that's what you want." I told him to do it.

At this point I bring up the fact that Barrier still has the car for sale on their website. I ask if we have a deal or not. He says "Yeah, but in the world of car sales that I can't promise it 100%." Basically he said this is the way these deals work.

After I hang up with him, I looked through some shipping quotes that I secured myself earlier on when I first thought I might buy the car direct. Intercity's reply to me was that they don't service the requested route.

So now I'm saying to myself "I've got to get some taller boots"...I call him and tell him that I need to know for sure that Barrier has committed the car to him and what is going on with the shipping. That is when he told me that he has to have the MSO before he can fully authorize the shipping.

He says that when Barrier has his check that they will fax him the MSO. He claims that this will happen tomorrow.

He is doing a lot of fast talking and is trying to turn this around saying "Look if you're not committed, we can stop this now". I told him the only thing I was worried about was that HE doesn't seem committed.

I'm not betting on the MSO arriving tomorrow. This is BS!

here's $100k.... sorry its not much of a commitment????? WTF!
That is exactly why I said I wont go back to Barrier UNTIL the car is headng to AL....once its on the truck, I plan to go down there and ask some straight questions with a borrowed pair of taller boots

This is the same attitude I had from my local dealer and from one of the dealers in Dallas. Ridiculous.

MSO comes with the cars when they are delivered from the factory, at least with all our lines of manufactures ie. Toyota, BMW, MB, FORD . The only holdup on a MSO, is if it was a dealer trade.
Are you saying he does NOT have the MSO with the car???

He claims they have sent payment for the car and that when current holder of the car receives it, the MSO will be handed over.

At this point, I'm just trying to find out whether my dealer has actually sent payment for the car.

The silver is closer to your budget.

It doesn't hurt to get your finances all lined up in advance so that you appear dead serious and then make a 15% off offer - if you are serious.

As I suspected, the salesman was totally stringing me along about having sent the check to secure the car into his inventory.

A phone call to the owner of the dealership revealed that an interdealer trade was the only way they could have secured the car I supposedly bought. He stated that the trade was in no way financially beneficial to them. So, this deal won't happen.

To make amends, he offered to order me an equivalent 2011, minus full leather and deviating stitching, for $1000 over the price agreed on for the dk blue car.

I'm struggling with whether or not to tell the owner what a POS his salesman is.

My first P-car...what a fiasco
