Speed yellow or Metallic black???????

Biggest reason I sold my dark green metallic Turbo was that it was impossible to keep clean. Wash it and a drive around the block would make it dirty.
Speed Yellow ALWAYS looks great.

The only two things I dont favor black cars are:
1. its hard to appreciate their lines at night
2. easy to get swirl marks if you're not very carefull washing them

Go for the SY! It is a great color and doesn't require nearly as much work to keep clean. My cousin has a SY yellow and my eyes pop each time I see it. It makes me wish I had gotten a sporting color such as that.

SY is too flash for me.
Black is also a bit too flash.
Call me boring, but I like the silvers, greys and (surprising for me) Aqua Blue.
Slate Grey I find very distinguished and subtly beautiful as its different colors in different light.

I asked a couple of dealers back in 2009 when I sold my 2006 Yellow Cab. They told me since it's in Speed Yellow, they had to offer me $2K less than the "low key" colors. I then told them I guess that's must be the reason he has over 10 used blacks/silvers sitting on the lot "waiting" for the customers.
All you need is one buyer who likes Speed Yellow. By the way, why care about the resale value when you are buying a $100K car for YOURSELF?

Has my 1st 996 in Arena Red=burgundy and loved the color. My 997.1 was Artic Silver/black and loved that color too...just classic. My 09 987 Boxster I went with Speed Yellow cause I always liked it..however I do agree with those that say it is a "noticeable" color and you do/will stand out! And it turned out to be one of those colors I just like to love from afar after owning it. Cleaning the car was a breeze and it did pop in the sunlight..however it did also attract too much attention...was not low key and thus was one of the reasons when I traded it for my 997.2 I went with a darker car. Wanted a Basalt Black or Meteor or Seal Gray but none were available then I got a great deal on a Porsche Racing Green 997.2 sitting in the corner of the lot...all alone! LOL I must say I've always liked dark green and it is one of those colors which I always get complements on. Pretty easy to keep clean and folks just say "they haven't seen many Porsches in that color and it looks great!"
So get the color you want and can live and drive with...agree its not a rational decision but like someone said..buying a $80-90k sports car isn't rational either! So spend a few days with it..then pull the trigger and enjoy!

I love the look of Speed Yellow with a black interior but it is too flashy for me so I stay with the classic silver/black combo. Arena Red is also a favorite of mine.

A Porsche in any colour is great. I like the darker colours a bit more though. I know this wasn't in choices, but have you considered one of the slate/meteor grey? Not sure which one, but it is close to black without all the trouble of black.

I looked at a couple of SY's when I was in the market, certainly one of my favourites. I think it's a color that you either love or hate. My boss told me I was crazy getting a yellow car, oh well, to each his own.
Black looks great when it's clean and in good condition. I've had a couple of black cars, but no more. Just too difficult to keep looking pristine.

My take on this is that a lot of us love the bright colours but many of us just don't have the courage to pull the trigger on one. So do us a favour and go for the speed yellow so that we can all live vicariously through you!
