Does everyone realize that is an illustration and not a photgraph? Road and track has several illustrations in the issue that came out the other day. They are based on an artists interpretation of all the spy photos that have been around for a while, sans camo.
With all due respect to the Fonz, the 911 is nowhere near jumping the shark. Put a V6 up front, or 21 inch wheels, make it a real 4 passenger, or something like that. Then it's out there with Fonzie.

Personally, I really didn't like the rear end look of the 997.2 and much preferred the 997.1 (even before I got one myself). But the more I look at it, the more it has grown on me... so much so that now I prefer the 997.2 look to the .1.
I bet the same will happen with the new 911.

I was just thinking that...if this thing turns into a transparent Targa like roof...that's it I'm done....I REALLY do not like this idea.
PORSCHE...PLEASE give us a soild NO SUNROOF car for the USA! Lightweight soild roof.....no Targa transparent roof as standard..if you want to make a Tagra model, that is fine for those into that...but...PLEASE just a solid simple roof. NO SUN ROOF option PLEASE!

I like the new look. It isn't drastic, which is to be expected.
The tail lights on that illustration are absolutely horrible. I presume
they will not be the actual lights.

Hate the front, rear looks aggressive! Albeit, I take all of these with a TON OF SALT (vs. grain of salt), as it's all speculation and we're not sure until the car is unvelied.

Ugh. Looks like a VW beetle. What are they thinking? Jeremy Clarkson will die laughing at Richard Hammond.

We have 2 more years of waiting....heard that the so called 991 will be a 2013 model and not a 2012 model.

Sounds like we have another making of "generational preference".. Some 911 fans love the SWB cars, others the 69-73.. others 78-89 (because cmon, no one really likes the '74-77 ones).. others 964.. others 993.. now others will draw a line in the sand of "after the 997, they really went downhill"..
Ha.. in 2 years 1/2 of you (or more) will be saying goodbye to your 997 and picking up a "newer" one. And almost all 911's look like "flattened beetles"

Folks, there is a heavy photoshop treatment on those pictures on both the front and the rear. For instance, the rear wing is completely different from all the spy pics taken of actual 991's being tested on the streets.
You can't assume anything from these pics...

I like it except the front lights=/ I think they make it look to much like a beetle.
Hopefully they strecth it a bit more.
IMHO I would stratch the hood a little more. On the third pick those front lights look way to close to the front glass.
I am always terrified when a car company decides to redisign their vehicles you never know what they are going to come up with. Just look at how BMW butchered the 5 and 7. Of course this is just my opinion =)
I hope Porsche doesn't mess around. When you have something good going why mes with it. The 911 it's a timeless design.
