I'm amazed they can get away with marketing a series of performance cars, distinguished over the standard models by the name "Black Edition" with the identical name being employed by Mercedes for a few years now.

Next week will be "White Edition" week with only 1911 of those available. In February will come (each week) a "Yellow Edition" and then a "Red Edition" and so on. Porsche AG got a discount on black paint from Glasurit this month.
Funny, it's only a Carrera--not an S, and thus only 345 hp.
Love how they claim the instruments are in black (normal for a Carrera) and that the brake calipers are in black (also normal for a Carrera). Funny!

The use of "Black Edition" or "Black Series" is used so widely in consumer goods of all types that I would guess it's too genericized to trademark.

Three Wheelin'
It's the perfect car.

This is a joke this "Black Edition" anyway on a regular Carrera the calipers are not painted black, so technically this is an "upgrade" if just purely cosmetic.

Drifting
Porsche is getting ridiculous.

Not sure I understand all of the vitriol about this model. If someone is in the market for a base Carrera this is a pretty good deal; Turbo wheels, bigger tires, park assist, Nav, Bose, aluminum look trim, floor mats, and painted rear console are standard along with some minor but unique touches. Pretty popular options, and if you work out the pricing it's a savings of at least $4K over a similarly equipped Carrera. What's the problem? That they called it the Black Edition? Meh......
