The one from BMW works in the lighter hole and the cord can be put through the window with no problems.

Battery Tender Plus - cig lighter socket - extended charge cord.
Am I the only one that pops the sunroof open an inch and put the wire down and through?
Hop in, pull the plug, pull the wire, hang on wall, off we go.
Easy-Peasy...

997s have the notch. If you are facing the drvier's door, it's at the bottom left hand corner of the door sill. The notch isn't on the actual door; it's on the door sill.

I've used a Battery Tender with cig lighter adapter for several years with no issues.
