Default Is something missing to hide some of the exhaust?

Hello - I picked up my 08 targa 4s, this is the one that had the scored cylinder and had a reman. from porsche. sounds good now.I noticed when looking at the car from rear, there is a lot 'exposed'

Anyone use aftermarket piece to tidy up the rear of 997.1?

Looks normal to me. The exhaust and engine underside do not have any kind of covers that I am aware of. There are heat shields on the inside, but I would assume those would still be there.

I am wondering if anyone can tell if there is a cover or something missing?

Here are 4 pics:

Looks normal - probably more noticeable to you since it's so clean.

My '09 C2S has black trim pieces around the cutouts in the bumper for the quad tips of my PSE. Your quad tip cutouts don't have that trim. That my be normal for your model year, but just thought I'd mention it in case yours are missing and that's what looks different to you. Otherwise, it looks fine.

Yup, the black trim cutouts in the bumper are only on 997.2. Wish the 997.1 had them too, as they add a nice finishing touch.

Anyone bother to determine if that area can be retrofitted for the 997.1 cars off the newer 997.2 valences?

The pic below shows the trim piece. Maybe eyeballing it can give you an idea if the size and shape would match. There are no screws, clips, or fasteners holding it on that I can detect. It fits so snug, with no gaps, that I could almost believe it's molded into the valence but it's more likely bonded to the back side of the cutout with adhesive.

It does give it a more finished look.

No kidding! For obvious reasons I was reluctant to pry at them. Good to know...
