Default New Hartech 997 Buyer's Guide

I just discovered Hartech (UK) has posted their 997 buyer's guide (part 5) :

http://www.hartech.org/buyers.html

They've got some very good information there on the problems with the 996 and 997 engines. Baz @ Hartech is one of the world's top experts on what goes on inside these engines and what makes them fail.

Obviously there's a bit of self-promotion, and he's a little bit "old school", but he's providing very good information if taken with the appropriate grain of salt.

I thought about providing cliff notes, but I think it's better for those who want to know about their engine to just read the original articles.

An exceptional analysis of the root cause engine failures.

Indeed, thank you for posting.
I read all 28 pages. It puts a new meaning to low temp t-stat and explains in great detail why.
In fact it renders a lot of previous discussions on this and other forums obsolete, including my own opinion.
Well worth reading.
