Default What is the latest PCM 3.0 software version for 2009 997.2?

I brought mine in today for a yearly maintenance service + brake flush and was told there was an update for my PCM 3.0. After the update, it shows v1.44. When I was at the dealer, I checked out some of the 2011 models (GT3, Turbo, and Turbo S) and they show v2.22.

For those of you with an 2009 997.2, what version of software do you have on your PCM 3.0?

I'd like to check for you but I tried and it seems I don't know how. Can you tell me how to find the version info?

If you push INFO > Options > PCM Settings > Display > Software Version (or Version Info), it should show you.

Thanks Mike.

Forgot to mention that I don't have XM radio so don't know if that makes any difference. The other 2011 models I saw in the showroom, all have XM radio.

Low-mile maintenance, including oil change - $212.80
Brake flush - $135.23

Those prices are with my 10% PCA discounts.

TooSixty, I followed your instructions (thanks) and found the info but it's very curious. Here is exactly what it shows:

System Version: V

That's it. No numbers, just "V". Don't really have a clue what that refers to, whether its the letter V or a roman numeral 5 or..... I tried multiple ways to drill down further but no go. Maybe it's still at a factory default software load but V? So you started out with a question and now I have one. BTW, I don't have XM either, FWIW.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Thanks Mike. It looks like you have the original version, V1.0. You should bring your car to the dealer to get the PCM upgraded. That's what I had when I got my car. The PCM was updated the following week to v1.4.1. Now, it's v1.4.4.

Thanks TooSixty. I'm about 40 miles from my dealer. IYO, does the upgrade provide enough benefits to make it worth a special trip? Not that I'd really mind the drive anyway....

Here are the bugs that were addressed from version V1.0 to 1.4:
* "INFO" and "MAP" buttons do not function if "INFO" or "MAP" is used to leave an open route list.
* Incorrect display of remaining range when in "miles".
* FM audio is muted until source is changed to AM.
* When a saved preset station is selected, the wrong station is displayed.
* In "ASIA" coding, RDS does not function.
* Intermittent loss of XM radio.
* Display does not match with the selected source.
* iPhone: Audio playback does not restart after phone call.
* USB device not available until system restart.
* Only USA: Maps set to European styling (wrong highway colors, POI icons, etc.)
* Temporary disappearance of TMC (traffic) messages during a drive cycle.
* For Voice Control, the "closest gas stations" command results in a list of the closest hotels.
* Bluetooth disconnection with Nokia mobile phones.
* The first activation of any function of the steering column switches (i.e. turn signal) ends a current telephone call.
* The opposite party cannot be heard in the vehicle if a phone call is made immediately after system start-up.
* Pairing or connection with a mobile phone via Bluetooth is no longer possible, although it had previously functioned.

I really appreciate you posting that list. I've not noticed any of those problems to date, though I don't have every feature listed and may not have tried everything. I'm tempted to leave well enough alone for now. Anyway, thanks.

Thanks,
I've been looking for this information. I had my system updated a couple of weeks ago. My Droid X would pair but the phone book would periodically not show. The problem is still there but it's less frequent.

The system now shows 1.44.

Mine still shows "V". It was supposedly updated last summer when I had a small TPMS issue, but I thought it weird to still show "V" after the update.

Oh well. I'm due for my 2 year maintenance any day now -- so I'll be sure to ask again. Thanks for posting.

If it just says V, thats a blank version indicator and equates to V 1.0.0.

It may be v2.x.x is only for 2010 cars. (ie they don't want to test their latest software for compatibility with the 09.s as and they (Porsche AG) are wussing out on passing the latest software on to the possibly older hardware.

Quick Reply: What is the latest PCM 3.0 software version for 2009 997.2?
