+1. That's exactly what I first thought... also kinda similar in size to new R4 too, looks to be on the same platform?

looking at alexb76's post you can compare the 997 and the so called new 929....i much prefer the classic lines of the 997... see the profile....

i think sports cars are trying too hard to look mean and tough.. the classic sports car lines are starting to disappear. the 997, 993 and old jaguar xk will remain the classic sports car look that will stay beautiful. forever.....

Umm, you guys really think that photoshop pic is what will be shown at Detroit?

I doubt the real concept car will have any of that R8 sytling. Can't wait to see what the real thing looks like though...

Not bad, although the front air-dam is too overstyled for my tastes.

No - probably not even close.

929? Wouldn't that moniker be more appropriate on a 2-door Panamera coupe? Front-engined V8 with hatch, a genuine 928 successor?

I like what someone above said about classic sports car lines. To this day, I turn around and admire an older 911 (old being before 996 in this case).

Same is true for me of other brands. For example, I don't like the new Ferraris. I thought the 355 was a beautiful car and the 430 was nice as well, but the new lineup just looks like it is trying too hard to be futuristic.

On the other hand, I like every Lotus concept introduced in LA. I'll be seeing them up close in a couple of weeks in San Diego. The Elan looks amazing!
