I'd paste a copy of a recent dealer trade-in offer on the side window.
When they see how little a used Porsche is worth, they might move on to something of more value.

When they come for your Porsche they are going to leave with your Porsche.
Best excuse ever to get a new one.

My neighbor on the one side had his truck stolen middle of night and found stripped in the desert. Neighbor on the other side had stuff stolen from vehicle in her driveway. Neighbor few doors down had his nice truck tailgate stolen, then stolen again when he replaced it a week later. Garbage is everywhere, and I think it's worth it to take preventative measures.

I happen to live in one of the safest cities in the country. I still have a few guns, a dog, and monitored security with video. Not exactly sure why I went so far, but it makes me feel safer.

I lock the doors at night and regularly say hello to my neighbors . . . that's is it.

I have heard it recommended to not have your security company's sign in your yard. Swap with your neighbor if they use someone else...makes counter security more difficult. So if you have Brinks and they have ADT...just ask him to swap signs.
A cheap security device I now use is a motion alarm disguised as a bird house. It sounds a "door bell" inside the house when the beam is broken. You can find the whole kit on amazon for a few hundred bucks. I also use one of those "game camera's". Takes pictures or video in daylight or at night. Mounted it to a tree and it is locked up...I review it once a month to see if people have been on my property.

+1 on "just the car", though.
Unless your car has irreplaceble centimental value (like your dad bought it when you where 5), its just a car. Its insured, isn't it. Mine even has a 3 year depriciation waiver.

Just leave the hood up - when they see there's no engine, they won't want it.

Fake or real outdoor security camera; pull fuse from fuel pump or install proper hidden cut out switch for the same; install alarm horn in the interior of the car; install fake alarm LED where it can be easily seen; install "gas station bell" near beginning of drive way; place keys inside a "safe room" -interior room with IR or contacts on door-like a bath room-where you wouldn't normally look for keys.
Make you and your stuff look like and be a PIA to boost-they'll look elsewhere.

In fact, regardless of make, the most common form of car theft is because people leave the keys in the car when parked in the garage or driveway. And the "thief" hops in and drives off.
