Champion RS184 wheels - Do you like them ?
On my search of finding the perfect replacement for my stock wheels, I came across the Sport Classic wheels (too heavy !) and the Fuchs wheels from Germany (lighter than stock, but too expensive !)
Then I came across Champion's RS184 wheels... They look classy and simply, I like such look ! And my car is a C4S, meteor grey, just like the one pictured on their website
What do you think ?
And how about the quality of the wheels from Champion ? Do you know if they are forged ?

They remind me of the Ruf wheels. Take a look at the ForgeLine site. They have some nice looking wheels for you car. I plan to get a set for my 997S in the near future.
Here's a forged 3 pc. wheel similar to the one above:

I like them; they look sporty and clean. However, I also thought of Ruf when first seeing the pics. And being a fan of Ruf, I'd fancy having a set of Ruf wheels for my own car. OTOH, my car has the OEM Carrera Classic wheels (not to be confused with the Sport Classic) and the Carrera Classic has a similar 5 spoke design that was said to be patterned off of the Carrera GT. So if you like the 5 spoke look, you might want to consider the optional Porsche Carrera Classic wheels.

From the Champion Motorsports web site:
The RS184 is a "forged monolite wheel" and "is available in 19x9.0 (front) and 19x12 (rear) sizing with specific offsets optimized to fit the fenders of all 997 models perfectly."

My favorive Champion wheel is the RF67 ==> http://www.championmotorsport.com/pr...p/cms-rf67.htm

I like the RS184's as well and have no doubts about build quality and light weight. I also agree with previuos posts saying they are very similar to RUF wheels which isn't a bad thing! My only concern with them is the design is a little conservative and if I'm buying aftermarket wheels primarily for a different look, I think I would become bored with them quickly.
I also was looking at getting Fuchs style wheels but changed my mind and now these are high on my list.

They do have the RUF look, a great looking wheel - although these are forged and probably easier to come by than RUFs.
Carrera Classics are nice too, but slightly more styled - the 184s and RUFs are a clean, no BS styling with a purpose-built look to them. I bet any of those 5-spoke designs would be a breeze to clean up too.

Thanks for all the replies
I really like the RS184 Champion wheels, but the price is terribly high !
For such a simple design, I never thought the price would be so high...

They are good looking wheels...not sure why you thought simple design = low price - all the Champion wheels are expensive whether they have 5 spokes or 10 spokes. Even the Porsche OEM wheels are expensive. Maybe you can find some cast, replicas that look similar.

Porsche OEM with tyres (combo) cost the same as Champion wheels (only wheels !)...

Obviously its personal preference, but I like those wheels a lot. To me they are not overcomplicated and they have a muscular look. Champion makes very high quality product; I have the RG5's on my 997S. They are on the expensive side, probably ballpark $5K per set.
