Default Buying first 997

Hi all, still pretty new here at RL. I have an 08 Cayenne GTS and will be buying my first 911 next year. Are there any existing threads discussing the pros and cons between the different models? I will be looking at used 2007-2010 Carrera S, 4S and Turbos. Any advice would be useful. This will be a toy car that may see the track eventually but nothing to hardcore. Mostly to have to drive. Thanks.

Welcome. The GTS is a very nice car. It's hard to go wrong with any of the modern Porsches. In fact it's hard to go wrong with any Porsche. The best advise I can give you is to read up as much as possible on this forum-lot's of great advise and good people. Take you time and buy the car that YOU want.

Cheers

Total911 Magazine (Issue 66) just had an article"The Complete Guide" on picking a new 997. They run thru about every possibility, Carrera, GT, turbo, etc. They ended up with a Carrera S. Check it out.
The GTS sure looks like a great all a rounder to me.

If you're that new to the 911 study first' buy later. Take a peek at Randy Leffingwell's guide to 911 buying. It summarizes the differences from year to year.
