Default door alignment

has anybody actually aligned the doors on their porsche? i know that porsche is known for good fitting panels but nobody is perfect. i hope someone could comment or better yet pics and instructions on proper way. there was a post on how come doors do not close solid. i have seen car in the showroom that close with a very solid thud and some that dont and they are all of the same year. i doubt there is really any construction difference so i am almost 100% sure its the alignment. the doors are removed before assembly of other car parts and reisntalled down the line. this is where the problem appears.

You should give examples of what you are describing. Perhaps a couple of photos would be useful.

Yes, the doors come off ALL 997s during the manufacturing process to aid in access to the interior. However, Porsche does a very good job in this regard--but show us what the issue is for you.

ok dan i will do that. but to further describe...run you finger around the gap of the door and the adjacent panel from the front fender going down to the running board then going up the rear fender. the gap is not canstant and your fingers will notice that door is not flushed/leveled with the adjacent panel.. door is not aligned..

I have looked at the spec for these cars and they are well defined in the workshop manual. Will compare to the manual (regarding gaps and flushness).
