Can I make a seat change?
My 2010 997 has ventilated comfort seats. Can the dealer change out my seats for adaptive sports seats if I give up the ventilation.Any idea of cost? Would this be throwing money out?

FWIW - I spoke to Suncoast about ordering adaptive sports seats for my car. According to the parts guy, Porsche does not sell seats as an aftermarket item.
Not sure I totally believe this; what would a body shop do if you needed new seats for a collision repair?

You can change to a different seat. But the wiring plugs may be diffeent. You may have to have them trace and re configure to acheve complete operation, You can give up the vent and or the memory
the best way to get them is buy from someone that has taken them out of a car. look on the classifieds or put a add up here
And next, what seats do you have? Put pictures up and description.

I had GT3 seats in my '02 C4S - loved them for the track, got really tired of them for the street. And - my wife wouldn't ride in the car after I put them in. Maybe that would be good thing for some, not for me.

My local dealer put a set of sport adaptive seats in 09 C4S that came from the factory wiyh sport buckets. It was plug and play.
I put sport buckets in my 09 Cayman S which came with standard seats. Again, it was plug and play. Sold the car and now I have a set of sport buckets in the basement. They were comfortable for me on the street.

For anyone here thinking of the Adaptive Sport Seats, I may be selling mine from my 2010 GT3 (<5K miles). They have alcantara inserts (butt and back) and black leather trim on the sides. No issues with them whatsoever, I'm just thinking about going with sport buckets.

Anyway, I do love the *** - I don't think you would regret getting them OP.
I think the only thing that might be difficult to make work is the memory function, since you have the hook that into the wiring, but other than that it's just a seat.

Dealer said it can't be done so I will live with the seats.nothing is perfect in life ans I thank my lucky stars everyday that I have this car.Don't really believe if you are not tracking the car that the seat change would be worth the money and hacking up of my car.

How much did the seat swap for the C4S cost - if you don't mind sharing that info?
My experience with my Cayman S was that it took me less than two hours to complete the swap. As I recall it was two plugs on the passenger sided and one on the driver's side with four bolts on each seat. Any faults cleared after about 100 yards of driving.
