Having driven a Panamera S on a track, it is a total PIG, whereas the Cayenne S is still fun. I'd keep your 997S and buy a Cayenne S.

Thanks for the ideas and responses. Think I will hold what I got for now. Use $$ for other means...maybe GM's IPO! LOL And revisit this in 6-12 months where I think I'll probably sell/trade the wife's 09 Cayenne S for a 2011-12 Cayenne v6 or Panamera v6 (her choice) and sell/trade the M3 for an Audi A7 or just maybe an S7 (if they decide to make one) for me.

Great. I'm kind of bored (is that the right word?) with cars deep down. Then I get all excited about a new model (mine's an 07) and think that's the answer because I get a new-car-high for a week with the brochures and websites. Then it subsides and I leave it alone. Good thing I've been smart enough so far NOT to walk into a dealer showroom when I'm that kind of vulnerable!

Easy to spend someone else's $$.

I think this is good move. If were me I would boot the M3 keep 997 and Cayenne.
