Thanx, John. The pictures are great. I just hope that all 997.2s (09 - 10) were configured the same (I can't imagine they weren't but my local P-dealer service manager isn't so sure...)

Thanks from me as well - this is great info. Any way that you can think of to get hold of just the faceplate part? It seems the part at Suncoast is the whole wheel...
Does anyone have the part number???

Suncoast has the 997.2 PDK MF Switch Control Kit (just the faceplate with the additional switchs for audio, NAV and tel), part # is 61346500FUQ. Add 997 to the beginning and you get the Porsche part #.

Suncoast does sell the face plate, http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...2s_electronics This is the same one I bought for my 2009 PDK, except it was cheaper last year.

Additional Info for those with PDK AND Sport Chrono
I received additional information that the correct part number for a Multifunction Switch Control Kit for a PDK car with Sport Chrono is as follows: 997-613-469-00-FUQ. Can someone plz verify that this is a correct Porsche part number. This part includes lights in the faceplate that will indicate when you have Sport or Sport Plus engaged (I think). Plz correct if I have this wrong. I cannot find this part on the Suncoast web site store.

Can someone confirm for me that the multi-function features of the 2010 steering wheel allow for a programmable button that can be mapped to a PCM function?
I'm interested in having a single button way to turn off the PCM display that isn't the lengthy and complex (ie must take eyes off the road) process of getting there from the 2009 PCM3 screen (info->pcm->screen->turn off->confirm)
This with the heated steering will finally get my steering wheel to where I wanted to order it in 2009.

Update on wheel goodness.
The new style multi-function and heated wheel has arrived and is awaiting install (with new controller and clock spring assembly and new airbag), in my 2009 997.2 6spd Targa (to replace the XPA extra thick sports wheel).
now I'm almost looking forward to a cold winter to really enjoy the heated wheel.... its amazing how the prospect of a lack of pain is an enticing thing.
Current XPA wheel in stone grey:
New Multifunction/Heated 6spd wheel (black trim on grey):
So will anyone be needing a stone gray non-pdk plain old XPA (fat and nice as hell but cold in the winter if you live up north) wheel or maybe the airbag out of sports wheel?
