Given your goals here, I would test drive the bmw 335i. The new model has a different engine and should not have the problems which resulted in the recent recall. I drove a 330i befire I replaced it with a 997 c2 as my daily driver. The bmw was rear wheel drive car. With the sports suspension it was a great drive. I used it in winter with winter tires and it was terrific. Before getting my porsche, I would have said that the bmw was as good as it gets for a daily driver.
