Default Yet Another 997 Model

Its called the 911 Carrera S Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, limited to 30 models. Looks like a regular S with a wing. It's becoming more and more rediculous.

Well, lessee.. it's called the "Carrera Cup Asia", and according to the photo above, it's on Porsche's China website, so I'm wondering if it'll only be offered in Asia or China?

Another quarter-mil per copy car?..

30 cars, probably only going to be sold to 30 people who partake in the "Carrera Cup Asia" race.

If people are buying these to actually race, I'd assume that they would just get the Cup car..

I think these are purely street cars.. not intended for some one off race series.. (just my guess)

Carrera Cup Asia is the typical Porsche race using Porsche Cup cars.

This is a commemorative model to pay homage to the series.

Probably costs stupid money for the very limited 30 cars produced. Porsche is really starting to milk this limited model bit.

Im guessing half million, easy. Regular 997s in China with few options already cost quarter mil. And no, these will not be for people who race, people in China with that type of money pick up mistresses in them. If they do go to the track, it will be for taking photos.

It's rediculous...

Porsche will never catch Mustang with all the "special editions".

Default are you sure...

At the current pace it may just surpass them it they keep it up....

The accent colors and sticker kits on the 997.2 gt3rs is an epic fail IMO.....to add anything similar to any model and call it a special edition is even worse. Porsche does a lot right but from time to time some things that make you wonder..... is that script on the wing and an tinted Oakley sticker band on the top windshield?

Red is a popular color in China and lots of people there have more money than they ever dreamed of having because of real estate appreciation. Why shouldn't Porsche sell them what they want? I understand they get $150k for a base Cayenne with no trouble.

If you really want to know what Porsche has up its sleeve in the new model department, I spotted THIS on the road in Charlotte today. Must be major camo for a new sports-car-sedan-truck-suv they have planned.

China is a major market for porsche and their largest growing 1st time customer base in the world. The 1st city to sell the Panamera was Singapore.
