Default As good of a wheel cleaner as P21S?

I am looking for a good wheel cleaner with similar performance to P21S, that is just that gentle on the wheels/paint, but cheaper! P21S is great, but I almost can go through a bottle in one wash!

Never used P21S, but the Griotts stuff seems pretty decent - although I get ahead of it, so it really doesn't have much to do; I clean, dry, then wax - swiffer in between washings.

I've used both and can't tell much difference between the two and now just use the Griotts stuff. Buy a gallon at a time.

Simple Green works well and is inexpensive and environment friendly.

Use the "Daytona Speed Brusk" - over priced at $30, but works great and will get all of the wheel clean.

I have used alot of different products and agree simple green works just as well as anything else.

Clean the wheel completely and use the armour all wheel protectant and it will make a big diffference in terms of build up and ease of cleaning.

+1 on simple green. I just use it sparingly to get the nasty bits out of the corners. Water and elbow grease to get the rest off

I buy P21S in the big jugs (5 liter?). Still not exactly cheap, but it takes me a while to get through one.

I like Griot's wheel cleaner. I buy it by the gallon and try to hit them when they or re-sellers have sales - yesterday Griot's had 20% off.

Think he means this thing

I got essentially the same brush (same manufacturer, slightly different in design) in two sizes. I've gone thru at least 5 different wheel brushes and these are the best.

As far as other cleaners, I'd be wary of using an APC such as Simple Green. Stuff is real good at taking off virtually anything. So one has to wonder how safe it is for alloys.

if you are using wheel cleaner then you are not taking good enough care of the precious wheels. once they are clean you need to wax the you know what out of them . then every week you just need to soap and rinse. P21S is pure carnuba wax. use on the wheels too...

The Daytona Speed brush is execellent for getting the whole entire wheel clean - particularly the inner part of the rim where you can't reach it with your hand. Also, it will fit nicely between the brake caliper and the rim to clean a very difficult spot.

1. Bite the bullet, pull the rims, and clean thoroughly.

2. Spray with Armour All wheel protectant

3. Clean as needed with speed brush and dilute Simple Green oy any car wash soap will do - the expensive stuff doesn't work any better.

4. Periodically you will get a piece of tar that sticks to the rim. Scrape off with a small piece of plastic with an edge (plastic putty knife).

Rims will look new for years to come.
