No, its a stand alone option, or bunched in with the SPASM if you click that box.

Just a point of clarity but Guard and GTgears are the same thing. GTgears is just a screenname. The company always has been Guard Transmission.

Default To summarize....

OK. So if I have this correctly, it appears we have at this point only two documented failures of 997.2 LSDs. Mine, and mdrum's. Mdrum-- is yours a PDK or 6-speed transmission? If it's a PDK, then mine is the only 6-speed LSD failure (my understanding is the PDK and 6-speed LSDs are different-- Matt, please correct me if I'm wrong....)

In any event, this doesn't yet seem to be epidemic. There probably aren't that many 997.2s out there on the track, at least not compared to 997.1, so the lack of failures may be simply statistical due to a small sample size. But at least at this point it doesn't look like they fail with the same rate as the GT3s, and hopefully mdrum's and my cases are outliers......

I'm just a guy lurking and learning to buy my dream car (like many others here).
I had a 2007 BMW M Coupe and it had LSD.
I did several AutoX events and 2 high performance driving schools.

As I understand it LSD is a great option for optimum handling on a track.
Why is this an option, and a junk option on the mighty 911?

I intend to track my 911 and is an LSD irrelevant in a 911 due to better handling dynamics?
Or is it just a profit item for Porsche?
Thanks.
