Power seats with Memory are $1,550.

For me, the best part of the Power Seats is that the seat bottom can be tilted to raise the front or rear of the lower seat cushion. I am long in the thigh, and most car seats are too "flat" (too close to horizontal) to suit me comfortably. I need to be able to raise the front of the seat cushion and/or lower the rear of the seat cushion to get a comfortable seating position which gives me some additional thigh support.

Great feature indeed, have it on my Cayenne too.

I LOVE this option!! My driveway is kind of long and not very wide, so it helps with backing a lot.

Actually, as mentioned, the power seat/memory seat package is $1,550.00 as indicated by my window sticker.

If you buy your car pre-owned, the option costs about $4.00.

I was wondering why mine did that - left hand mirror for LHD cars obviously.

I found it a nuisance since I use my mirrors mainly to avoid reversing over one of my dogs. I rarely park the car on the street.
I would find this feature very useful on my daily drivers however which none have.

The person who made the comment about it costing $3000 has manual sport seats. To enable this, you'd have to get adaptive sports seats, which are ~$3000. RIF.

I believe the "passenger mirror dip" function also works with the Power Comfort seats.

True about the Adaptive Sport Seats being $3,055, but the Sport Seats are $800, so the difference is "only" $2,055.

Thanks, Never thought about it before.. Used to work and then stopped and I never thought about it again... Didn't know it was tied into the mirror selection..
Love this forum....

Hm-m-m. Must have changed since the 996....where, if the car is in reverse when you set the seat memory, the mirror will dip when you put the car in reverse later on. If you have the transmission in any other gear when you set the seat memory, the mirror won't dip.

Never bring your car in to a shop, and get it back to find the seat all the way up to the steering wheel cause you are 6' and the mechanic is 5' 5"?

More like $300 with a SmartKey/RemoteKey - http://www.wit-usa.com/sms/shop/inde...ode=view&id=49 - and it adds some other handy features (some redundant for newer cars).

That manual is a cool item. I'm going to go through it tonight because I had no idea that my mirror "did the dip" and when I drive my wifes BMW I used to say, gees I with the Porsche did "the dip"
That's funny, now I love my car even more.

She thinks I'm incapable of Love, but it's clearly not true.

Default 997 mirror won't tilt

I just bought a 2010 C4S, 6 speed, with power memory seats. Love the car but there's a glitch I haven't been able to resolve. The manual states that the mirror should tilt when the car is put in reverse. It does not. The manual also says I can pre-program the amount of tilt into the desired memory location by
1. engage parking brake and ignition
2. select reverse gear
3. move mirror switch to passenger side,
4. set mirror to desired position,
5. press memory button and memory number, listen for the beep.

I hear the beep and it seems like it all worked fine. But when i put the car in reverse and the mirror still doesn't tilt.
just wondering if anyone else has had this issue or if it's a problem the dealer needs to look at.

Thanks in advance

Steve

I think you have to have the **** turned to the right. If you move the **** back to center or left after setting the mirror then the mirror will not lower in reverse. At least that's what my 2006 does.
