There really should have been a "frunk" cable release inside the passenger compartment.

I bet you could probably take that cable that goes to the wheel well and route it through an air vent or something like that.

Let Porsche solve the spare tire issue on the latest models....I've managed to put together a solution to the flat tire problem but haven't solved the "where to put the flat tire and wheel" problem?????

I'm sure that half of the cars sitting on the side of the road are suffering from no more than a flat....
Some countries in which Porsche does business requires Porsche to supply a spare tire and jack..
Include the tire and jack with all the cars built and let the new owner decide whether or not to carry them or not carry them....

Default Source of problem

Turned out my inflator pump for the passenger bolster failed "on". Fixed via warranty.

I myself am basically a prima donna-type now and don't lift a finger for these kinds of things.
Fortunately, I drive pretty much only in a populated, Verizon-networked region, and also don't drive my car in the winter. (Also, I always use my battery maintainer when parked at home.)
If I get a flat tire or a dead battery, I will be chatting on my cell phone with friends while waiting for AAA or Porsche service to arrive...

You can thank that to the cell providers and their zeal to transition out the analog cell operations in exchange for the more limited digital only operations so they can send you pay-per-view to your phone... if you are within 20 miles of an interstate or city or major highway, that is.

Right. The US has to be considered to be like Honduras in that sense.
Why an option isn't available to at least buy the full spare kit with tools if we want to, is beyond me. But still, as has been said, the unsolved problem is still: where do you put the flat rear tire and rim once you have the spare on front, rotated the front tire to the back. That monster has to go somewhere so you can get it fixed or replaced.

It fits on the (downfolded) back seat easily, even the latest 305s. But you'd better have a blanket to wrap it in though or it's gonna get dirty in the back.

Given a completely dead battery, can a 12 volt plug-in (8 x 1.5 cells) in the cigar lighter pop the trunk? A Radio Shack battery holder with a standard plug, stored in the glove compartment. Down on your hands and knees, in the dark with a flashlight, looking for some wire in the footwell should not be necessary.

There are also issues with a really dead battery, the ignition switch will trap the key(Who designed this wacky system? Hopefully they were fired and blackballed in the industry.) and the door will not fully close because the window doesn't retract that fraction of an inch. This is not good engineering.

Do not use the tire sealant that came with the car unless it is absolutely the only way you can get on. It will ruin the interior of your rims, impossible to clean off. Don't believe me? Try it and see.

Buy a spare that will fir in the trunk - problem solved.

Also - get a good tire plug kit - use this intially if the hole is simple and easy to reach.
