Default Cooling fan turns on when car is off

Just wanted to know if this is a normal thing. The rear cooling fan on my 997.1 turns on when the car is off (sometimes even up to 30 mins after the car has been turned off).
Thanks everyone

It's an engine cavity heat extractor mechanism. I do not think that it's as much to cool the engine, as it is to cool the ancillaries, such as composite intake and plastic overflow tank. It often comes on when the car stops.

That's to prevent the flux capacitor from overheating which could cause a plasma implosion.

Nah... that's the Tesla. They have far tougher temp control problems.

Only 30 mins afterwards? Seems like longer than that here in AZ when I come home from 110 degree driving to my 100 degree garage... just blows and blows.

90 plus degrees here in Pittsburgh yesterday and my fan came on about 20 minutes after pulling into the garage. It came on a couple times over the course of a half hour.

Strange. My fan has never run once the engine is turned off. And we do get some hot weather in the summer here in New England. It will be in the 90s all week here.

90 degrees? That's a cold spell here in DFW. We've had 100+ here for over a month. The other day it got so hot in my garage that the engine bay blower on my 997.1S came on even though I didnt drive the car that day. I wish that garage had automated venting like the car does.

Have the fan/fan control checked.

Fan/fan control? How is that checked? Mine never turns on after I shut down the motor either.

Wouldn't a code show up for this?
