Exclamation Fixing sluggish retracting seat belt.

Drivers side (RHD). Car was in for its 111 point check yesterday. The issues noted were;

1. A non Porsche battery.

2. Sluggish seat belt retraction (drivers side)

3. Greasy wiper blades.

4. Clutch possibly in its latter stages of wear.

The seat belt issue I want to fix myself - any fixes for sluggish seat belt retraction - it does retract but usually has to be helped along the way.

If it has to be replaced which model (part No) is needed- torque setting required etc.

Seat belt? I'd pull the belt out all the way and then shoot some 100% pure silicone in there as close as possible to the spring recoil (in red). That MIGHT work. Silicone won't stain anything, it'll just be slippery). Better yet would be to remove the unit and inspect and clean it. Some doubters will say the ratcheting/locking mechanism activated when you jerk the belt might be effected but the locking principle is probably heavily designed to be failsafe and I bet those things are bulletproof to mere silicone. Again, better that you remove the unit and clean inspect and lube.
