Default Sirius Install - Thanks Sandwedge!

I had Custom Car Stereo in Houston install a Sirius receiver in my new (to me) GT3. They wired the output to the AUX wire and added a switch in the console. All wires were routed next to the steering wheel and are just about completely hidden. They weren't the cheapest estimate I got, but did great work.

Thanks to Sandwedge for the idea on placement!

How is it working out?
Can you see the screen well?
What does the switch do and how does it look?
I am intrigued, thanks for the post.

It works very well, but it is very difficult to see the screen. For that reason and because I didn't want a color screen next to the monochrome standard radio, I went with the Sirius Starmate 5. This model allows me to feel the buttons (both the 5 and 6 have bumps and the 1 and 10 are easily discernible). Therefore, I can pretty much just feel around - after taking time to set the stations when I got the unit.

It switches the AUX input between the Sat Radio and the iPod in the console. It lives inside the console (next to the AUX jack), so I don't really care what it looks like. If you don't have an AUX input, an antenna input works fairly well (my wife has this arrangement on her Merc ML350).

Awesome. I still have mine in the same spot. As you said, the screen and the buttons are hard to see but like everything else, you figure out a way to deal with it. I started out using the remote but after realizing I rarely switch beyond the 9 stations programmed on the A-screen I just went to pushing buttons by feel and it works.

Custom Car Stereo mounted the antenna in the factory location: under the plastic piece between the right hand wiper and the windshield. It's completely out of sight and provides great reception.
