Or you can put a GT3 engine in a Carrera S!

I'm with Mike (mdrums) - tracked a 997.1 and now a 997.2. Extensive, hot tracks, instructor level driving. No issues whatsoever with proper care. I also think Mike and I are alike in that we love the 997.2 C2S with Sport PASM suspension - fantastic balance of street / track (better than my 997.1 GT3 was).

I mentioned my maintenance issues over 50,000 miles in my 997S.1 here:

Is that easily possible with all the electronics? I remember for swapping RS4 engine to S4, a lot of electronics issues had to be resolved before it could work.

You could try to put a GT3 engine in a C2S....would it be worth it versus picking up a 997.1 GT3....i would doubt it.

If you want the GT3 experience, go full fat..and indulge the senses.

I prefer the ride of my Carrera S Cab but wouldn't complain about getting a 8400 rpm redline monster back there.

I've always thought a GT3 with the 997 PASM would be the ideal car for dual duty. Creature comforts of the 997 for the street, but the growling monster engine of the GT3 in the back.

Probably makes more sense to start with the GT3 and work backwards from there though.

Maybe if my engine ever self-destructs...

That's actually my upgrade path!

One of the other nice features of the GT3 bodies (as I understand it) is that the GT3 bodies are seam welded entirely--and not merely spot welded along the seams. (This makes them much tougher).
