Default Ice Blue Delay ????????

Hearing rumblings of Ice Blue delay past Oct. I ordered my TurboS in early Feb. Been talking to dealer since last Dec.

I am pretty much fed up with the never ending delays. I really want the Black Blue Int. Don't want a black car so I feel only a blue color will go with that int. Color selection.

I guess I may have to go PTM. My thought are Mexico or Riveria Blue or Turq Blue. Does anyone think those colors would look good with Int. The car is a Cab.

Also how much longer could I expect for a delay for PTM wonder if dealer would help with cost for my long wait was orig promised May delve.

I am very patient but starting to wear thin on this deal.

Anyone have any suggestions ??

Ice Blue is showing as only being available after September of 2010 so their revised date of October may still be slightly optimistic considering it usually takes 3 months from start to finish.

I'm also looking at the same color for a new Spyder but I'm not getting straight answers from the dealer either.

Good luck.

Been told they took color off website. Have not looked so I an not positive. Was told IBM would start painting in week 44 but have heard that me be set back till late dec or Jan.

If anyone has some solid info please let it be known. If Jan is the start of paint it will be March before delve.

That will be a 15 month wait. Wow never dreamed it would take that long for a Pcar.

They did pull the color off of part of the website. The car config no longer shows the color but if you actually look at the color charts for the cars outside of the config it shows that it will be available after September.

I placed an order of an ice blue Turbo S 3 weeks ago. A week after the order, I was informed that Porsche has delayed the color until 2012. My dealer showed me the actual email they had received from Porsche. I changed my color to GT Silver.

Wow 2012. Did the email give any reason.
Guess I will have to PTM. Anyone know of any blues others than the three I mentioned that would be a great choice with Blue / Black Int.

I love my full leather black interior with Cobalt.

But you can't miss with any of the blues.

Just order a Paint To Sample. Fine something similar from the past. I doubt that you would be able to tell the difference from their 1988 "Lagoon Green Metallic," (F2) or their 1990 F4 Metallic Horizon Blue.

Dan
I am a visual person not seeing a lot of rare colors in my neck of the woods as we would say here Would the color of your car look good with the black blue Int.

The photos look great I seem to always be drawn to your color and Mexico Blue when I see a photo.

And I do admit the Cobalt Blue is very sharp also.

Where would a person be able to view some of the old colors at .? Other than at PCA event in Ca

I will attempt to scan in some older color charts and then see if I can match them up to the monitor so that they are reasonably accurate.

Dan since you're looking through older color charts, do you happen to have the color for your friends RUF Cayman? It's similar to the ice blue but with a tinge of teal and it IMHO is stunning. Would love to buy a paint to sample in that color!

Joe's color is a very custom color known locally as Azzurro Santa Barbara. It's made up of some blue and green. I don't have the formula for it--but can check. Alois Ruf painted the car for him while it was getting a supercharger.

Here's some charts to peek at: (1992) and then (1990), and 1989 (in German), 1995, 1988, 1984, 1986, and some more 1992.

I think the current color Aqua Blue would look awesome with that 2 tone interior. I think a white car would look sharp as well.

My 1980 911SC was simply "Light Blue Metallic", and was very much like the photos I've seen of "Ice Blue".

BMW's "Clearwater Metallic" is similar as well.

And then there's "Polar Silver", which is more silver than blue, but would look great with a blue interior...

Interestingly, at our Vintage races last month, our local Porsche Canada rep had the 2011 Turbo S press car in Ice Blue on display and doing some "demonstration" laps.
